Needle Guard (US Patent: 5,779,682) is a device that prevents accidental needle sticks. It is a protective plate that has multiple slits at its center. The slits allow the needle cap to position through the needle guard. When a misaligned needle tip misses the cap and heads towards the user’s hand, the Needle Guard shields the user’s fingers and protects them from possible sticking injury.
